On Thursday, August 23rd, the HCT executive board welcomed 24 new teachers for the 2018-2019 school year. HCT president Tom Glenn discussed the benefits of unions, the value of an involved membership and the challenges facing teachers and unions today. He explained Vote-Cope contributions and the significance of political action on the local, state and federal levels. Glenn also stressed the importance of financial planning early in one's teaching career. George Tebbitt and Marc Zimmerman from Plan Member Services presented about contributing to a 403(b) to prepare for their future financial security.
We are pleased to welcome these teachers into our HCT family and we wish them the best of luck this year and beyond!
