“Say Cheese” – Plenty of Smiles at the HCT Photo Booth

There is one tradition the Hicksville community can count on as each new school year begins: Hicksville High School’s Homecoming.  In addition to cheering on Hicksville's football team during the game, everyone enjoyed the Homecoming Fair, with its games,  prizes, raffles, school spirit items to purchase, and hot apple cider to warm the crowd during the chilly but beautifully sunny day. As always, the HCT was strongly involved with Homecoming as it brought in a photo booth for the second year in a row, complete with props and accessories for the community to enjoy as they had their photos taken with family and friends. Profits from the photo booth went directly to the HCT's scholarship fund for graduating Hicksville High School seniors. Over 30 HCT union members volunteered their time to work at the booth over a four hour span.  The Photo Booth was a popular destination with children and adults alike from the Hicksville community and what made the day even more special was the interaction between the teachers and children of Hicksville as they took memorable pictures together. Members of the Hicksville Congress of Teachers executive board and the Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Carl Bonuso enjoyed taking a series of lighthearted photos  together to help create lasting memories as they supported  the scholarship fund for graduating seniors

The HCT would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and helped make our fundraiser a great success!  'Looking forward to seeing you next year!
