Six Degrees of Separation

popsflyerOn Sunday afternoon, I had the distinct pleasure of spending the afternoon with my mom at the Nassau Pops Symphony Orchestra’s concert celebrating 100 years of Sinatra. What a surprise to run into Rachel Nadler in the lobby who proudly shared that husband Adam Nadler would be performing along with Rachel Krieger in CT members to my mom, a former union officer in the United Teachers of Harborfields and a lover of all things Frank Sinatra.  The show was fantastic and not only celebrated Sinatra, but also showcased and benefited the United Cerebral Palsy foundation. Joe Piscopo, headlined the second half of the show with his Sinatra stories and renditions of classic favorites.  But another surprise came when he was giving credit to the members of the Nassau Pops, he singled out sax player, Leo Ursini, who just happens to be the father of another member of our union, Angela Galante, HS Art Teacher.  It was like a Kevin Bacon moment for me - 6 degrees of separation!  A special thank you to Anthony (Tony) Johnson, retired HCT member, for the fabulous tickets.  In honor of our HCT members’ involvement in the support of UCPN, the HCT will be collecting donations for United Cerebral Palsy in any amount.  Please make checks payable to UCPN and forward them to the HCT office by November 3rd.  Thank you for your generosity.
