Giedre Kumpikas (1996)- I made a second film in 2012 and received a Silver Remi Award from the 46th World Fest Houston in 2013. The film is called “The Making of Wings to Remember.” I prepared a book for publication titled “Unexpected Journey” about deportations to Siberia in 1941. I received the “Shining Star Award” from the Diocese of Brookyn for work with the Catholic Church. I was raised to the rank of “Commander with Star” in the “Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem ceremony at St. Patrick’s Cathedral by Cardinal Dolan.
Ginny McLaughlin (1997) - A word to tell you how much more I enjoy the newsletter in its email form! Of course, seeing the paper in color adds so much to its enjoyment! I can recognize the faces so much better. In addition, when I want to refer to it, I can find it so much more easily in its folder, rather than 'somewhere' in my house. Enjoyed reading about continued benefits. I have used Travelzoo and now learn that OAT is a benefit. I traveled with them for three weeks in Australia and HIGHLY recommend them!! Spring is coming, I do believe!
Rena Seiden (2010) - I always enjoy reading the HCT newsletter. I am excited when my colleagues at the High School are honored as well as the remarkable and outstanding ESL teacher, Justina Ketyer. Justina started with us at the High School, and from day one we knew she was special. My best wishes to all, and now that we’re living in Fort Worth, Texas it’s nice to have such great news from the HCT organization.
Hilary Sperber (2013) - Thank you for the newsletter. It’s nice to hear about the “happenings” around our district.
