Retirees’ Update – September/October 2014

Elizabeth Stouges (1992) - Kudos to Elizabeth for supporting the union by continuing to pay dues even when her age exempts her from payments!

Adele Damian (1996) - Although I am in “retirement,” I just completed 18 years as a real estate agent, as a second career. The beauty of retirement from teaching is that I remember all the great times I had with my students over 33 years, and I’m still hearing from some of them. I have even sold some of them their first homes.  Never forget how powerful you are in your students’ lives. No matter how challenging things may sometimes get, you are part of a noble profession. It is a privilege to inspire the next generation

Ginny McLaughlin (1997) - Hello from Ireland! I am over in the far west of the country in Inis Mor, one of the Aran Islands. I am here for a week of wondrous hiking! The group of seven represents five countries. Great time!

Binnie Pasquier (2101) - Former ESL teacher is teaching Korean high school students for short term stays and doing ESL training courses for overseas teacher placement.

Pamela Friedlander (2013) - My husband and I are now “official” snowflakes, travelling between West Palm Beach and New York. This month we will see the official opening of my piano studio in West Palm Beach. I am a “tweeter” for The Kravis Center, a prominent performing arts venue in West Palm. I belong to several social, book and theatre clubs and am loving it all. It really is true that I am busier in retirement than I was working! My love and regards to all and hope to see many of you soon.
